THE ONLY FLOUR TORTILLA RECIPE YOU WILL EVER NEED!!! | Tortillas de Harina

Hello my beautiful fam!! Welcome back to my kitchen first of all I want to thank you for being part of our family, and allowing me to be part of yours!!!! ❤️
Today I’m going to share with you how to make the best soft flour tortillas, flour tortillas are a staple, and nothing beats homemade. I love flour tortillas over corn, but lets be honest store bought does and will never taste the same,. Making flour tortillas can be a little intimidated because i was at one point because my tortillas would never come out to a complete full circle but as grandma and mom would say, no se van a ir rodando, so its ok if they are not perfectly round, just make sure they are thin. Like everything practice makes perfect, be patient and enjoy the process its seriously super easy ☺️ now I been making tortillas for a while now 😅I dont want to sound old but in the way I have tried many flours and the best one yet is from the brand King Arthur, the dough just comes perfect every time! I made the tortillas with lard, butter, shortning and oil and the best ones are made out of shorthning or lard, butter gives a really funny aftertaste, I like to taste the flour torilla so that is the reason I stick to shortning, hot water is need so that it desolves the shortning/lard or choice of fat you are using. Resting the dough is important because it allosaurus the gluten to relax( helps the dough to be elasticy)😉
Like every recipe and every household, are tons of variations that make this delicious recipe, you can constantly adjust it to your taste; I hope you enjoy it as much as my family and I do, and as always, if you do, please don’t forget to give me a big thumbs up, comment down below your thoughts and if you new to my channel, please hit that subscribe button so you can be part of our family!!!!!! 😘

Tip!!!! Enjoy while hot with your favorite dish! or in a burrito, make them smaller for tacos 😀 to store, allow the tortillas to cool down completly inside a kitchen towel, place th3em in a ziplock bag and store in the refrigerator
dont overcook your tortilolas as this will cause your tortillas to be hard!

Ingredients:
4 cups APF my favorite is King Arthur brand
6 tbsp of lard, shortening or butter
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp salt
2 cups hot water(as hot as your hands can hadle)
1 serving of love 💕

I truly love you little lady! 😊❤

Flour and shortening doesn’t feel like sand. But it might LOOK like it, you roll into a ball not a circle and you added a little shortening not oil to the dough 😅 but your recipe is bomb! Thank you y suerte!

  5. @heistruth2865 on February 10, 2025 at 6:57 pm

Made this but my dough was so sticky. I realized next time slowly add the water until it reaches the desired consistency since it doesn’t seem 2 C of water is really needed.

Overall great receipe especially for someone like myself who has never attempted to make this

My grandma would make thick flour tortillas. How do I do this ? Maybe don’t roll so thin ??

  7. @onlythefamily7856 on February 10, 2025 at 7:03 pm

Can i substitute the baking powder for baking soda???

  8. @GabrielCastroOficial on February 10, 2025 at 7:05 pm

Just tried this recipe and the tortillas came out soft and stayed soft after they cooled down. The dough mixture took some time to knead but water was added as needed didn’t use all the water. The dough was sticky at first but as I worked it it became perfect.

Don’t worry about tortillas being ROUND any more? > I’am going to solve PEOPLES problem with round tortillas? I have no problem with pizza. but TORTILLAS 🙄🙄 Yes i have problems. 👉👉 OK here the SECRET to round tortillas > Pots and pan metal tops. Just make sure the dough is rolled out enough to cover them metal top! Place the top side down on the "rolled out dough" PRESS DOWN AND GIVE IT A TWIST. take it off WHAL LLA 👍👍 perfect cut tortilla. Great thing a bout the pot tops are ? There difference sizes. THERE RIGHT SIZE FOR TORTILLAS…From small to extra large tortillas, I know this will help YOU!

Can you make a recipe for one dozen tortillas please

  31. @polae5975 on February 10, 2025 at 7:32 pm

I swear I followed the recipe but my dough came out too loose and sticky to really even kneed. Is it really only 4 cups of flour?

  32. @jesswatt5824 on February 10, 2025 at 7:33 pm

Could you do this with the dough hook in a mixer instead of hand kneading? I have a sensory thing and the sticky dough icks me out…

  33. @marthagarza9549 on February 10, 2025 at 7:33 pm

Can you use a hand mixer to make the masa?

What a beautiful job you did making those

  40. @michelledewitt7591 on February 10, 2025 at 7:43 pm

    Your water is steaming
    The recipe I used said
I cup warm and 3 cups flour

  41. @veraroncelli7285 on February 10, 2025 at 7:43 pm

Ok so this dough doesn’t stop being sticky no matter how much you knead, it never turns into a perfect m smooth ball like yours. I even added a little flour while kneading… still sticky as hell!

  42. @mrbigsausage6918 on February 10, 2025 at 7:45 pm

    Very pretty 😍😍

i made 1/2 the recipe and it was plenty for the family of 4. Made them street taco sized vs large.

  48. @daeroc on February 10, 2025 at 7:48 pm

Is it ok to use a stand mixer?

  49. @lola7442 on February 10, 2025 at 7:51 pm

2 cups of hot water was way too much water for the amount of flour you said. I had to add a lot more flour to it.

  50. @melaniebreed6975 on February 10, 2025 at 7:53 pm

Why did mine come out super sticky?! I had to add more flour it was way too wet 😩
