Definitely a useful vid but that lil gay joke at the beginning ruined the rest of it. Great technique, terrible delivery. Oh, and there’s nothing wrong w/ being gay, just don’t incorporate into a food item, *yaks*

Did anyone who tried this cover their turkey? This was my first year making the turkey and I decided to follow this recipe but my mother is very upset I didnt cover the turkey and called everyone a fool for believing this mans magic show of cooking. Shes making me cover the turkey. Is this just common knowledge? Did anyone cook it uncovered?

  8. @CaribbeanSensation on February 10, 2025 at 7:07 pm

    Hello!
Do you still season the butter with salt after brinning the turkey?

Just made my first turkey following this process. I used my own variation of spices, but the turkey was honestly exceptionally moist and juicy and delicious. I am book marking this for future years.

  15. @AthensSlim on February 10, 2025 at 7:13 pm

Omg. So I have never cooked a turkey before. I’m 42 btw. I followed this video to a T. Know what? My 90 year old granny said it was the best Turkey she has ever tried. AND, she isn’t just saying that to be sweet like she does when she tells me how handsome I am lol.

    I can tell the difference.

My mother is normally the one to prepare the turkey every Thanksgiving but is not able this year due to her battle with stage 4 lung Cancer.

    Thank you for this video.

We all enjoyed the holiday meal and after several relatives inquired to the "Secret"

I told them about this video. They insisted I leave a like & a comment (I already had lol)

So from the Brooks & Smith Family in Athens Ga. We all thank you and hope you have a very Happy Holiday Season.

This certainly lifted our spirits in a difficult season.

    Take Good Care ❤

I just wanted to stop by and say thank you. I found your channel a year ago and I’ve referred back to your channel numerous time when I’m cooking or baking. I’m making a turkey today for Christmas and you are my ‘go to’. Thank you so much for all you do for us. I love your channel. Also, just wanted to say that many of us buy fresh turkeys, so we don’t have to worry about a frozen turkey. Also, next time, could you help us with stuffing and adding some sausages — a real UK Christmas dinner! Thank you! Hope you have a great Christmas!

Do any of y’all know what he is using to baste? What is that liquid? An answer would be really helpful.

  22. @acfarob69 on February 10, 2025 at 7:24 pm

In Canada Turkey is also for Christmas and my brother has taken over the dinner since mama has aged out of cooking Xmas dinner. He does an amazing job and his turkey is always MOIST and JUICY. I’m so intimidated to bake one but this simplified things to the point I will attempt it on my own lol

  23. @TherapyWithTheWord on February 10, 2025 at 7:24 pm

I am not putting my hand under the turkey’s skin.

I had never cooked a turkey before. Followed your instructions, and it was excellent! I used to work at Art Culinaire (Lacanche). Have your oven door hinges failed yet?

  27. @Freestile74 on February 10, 2025 at 7:31 pm

I just tried your turkey recipe! Wow! It is the juiciest turkey I’ve ever made. I added fresh ground sage to the butter along with some tarragon. I was worried as the dark color of the sage was showing through the skin, but once the turkey was all browned up, it didn’t show. Absolutely delicious! Your recipe is now in my permanent playlist! I was one of your first customers for your first cookbook. Happy Thanksgiving 2024!

  29. @patricia19551 on February 10, 2025 at 7:34 pm

Would you be able to cover the Turkey while you bake it? I do not use foil, as foil is not healthy for our brains. If I have to cover it can I use Parchment paper?

  30. @frostbittenarts on February 10, 2025 at 7:35 pm

Cooked my first turkey today using your video as a guide and it came out great! I didn’t have the same spices, but I had salt, pepper, thyme, garlic powder, and I added a few lemons in the cavity. I had an 8.5lb turkey and cooked it for exactly 2 hours and the thermometer read exactly 165. It was juicy and delicious even without gravy. Thank you for this video; it works well for us first-timers.

  31. @daprophessor4201 on February 10, 2025 at 7:36 pm

Rest the turkey for the same amount of time you cooked it.

  32. @dianecooper2494 on February 10, 2025 at 7:37 pm

Your recipe was fabulous. My son shared your video with me so we could try a new recipe. Turned out amazing! Thank you so very much ❤.

Why does Youtube algorithm favor this guy over others? His recipes such. I guess its homosexual privilege.

Other much better cooks are sent to the back of the bus.

  37. @GoodLifeInSpain on February 10, 2025 at 7:41 pm

I love this channel. The recipe’s are always winners in our household. But, I would urge people to rest the turkey for at least an hour…and many longer. It’s not going to get cold. Instead, it will significantly increase the juiciness of the meat. Thirty minutes is not enough time. It’s better than nothing, but consider letting it rest for an hour. You won’t be disappointed.

I use your instructions and my turkey is overcooked. I think if I didn’t use 450 to cook the turkey for the first 15 min. I should have turn out fine.

First time cooking a turkey by myself without my mother (she passed in 2020). Used your recipe today for Christmas dinner and it exceeded all my expectations. Had to modify just a bit because I’m allergic to dairy and use plant butter and the butter was not spreading evenly. I did get it under the skin on the sides but not the breast since the skin was holding on for dear life. Had to reapply my seasonings because the butter took all my seasoning off. I was mostly combining your recipe with my mom’s and it turned out beautifully. Nice crispy skin and super tender. Soooo happy with how it turned out. Thank you so much! ❤
