What model would you recommend for someone who is building a house? Should it be custom or something that is more reliable to last? Also I see you have wall ovens. Do you have a video for that? If so, can you share your link?

Definitely recommend you guys cover the Jennair built-ins as well. Their black onyx interior, and completely seamless cabinet faces definitely suits a certain aesthetic.

I had a built-in KITCHENAID, custom facia, lovely to look at, but when you have a water leak it is a b***h to pull out the unit for repairs. Mine was installed in 2004, and was junked by the summer of 2021. I recommend non-built-in,

Bbig fridge with barely any true cu ft space. Bbig waste of money. Big time expense to maintain when warranty is out and the all need constant maintenance over the years. Just buy a nice $2000-$3000 fridge and you will have more choices at a cheaper cost up front and over the years. Im a dealer and smh every time people insist on the built in optiion. Happy to take your money but u will hear my opinion before u waste it.

I purchased an apartment, with built-in subzero 700 TC on the left and 427R on the right. Both machines are quite old. If I want to replace them, what are options?

Which built in we should not buy?

I currently have a 42" GE Monogram Built-in In for $10,000 it is a piece of junk with all sorts of.problems. It has great white panels that match the cabinets. What is a good most reliable one we an get at the Cyber Mon sale??

  11. @jcancook1 on February 10, 2025 at 7:23 pm

I have a 20 year old 36" wide counter depth built in GE Monogram Refrigerator. The water dispenser area has had a very slight leak on the outside for months but otherwise the refrigerator works just fine. I put a paper towel in the tray area under the dispenser and it’s just moist but no flood or anything. I’m debating if I should buy a new refrigerator now because it’s been 20 years or wait till it goes out. I worried that if I wait, It will take weeks or even months before I can get a new one. Can a refrigerator die all of a sudden or can you usually tell when it’s about to go out by the noise, or when its no longer keeping the food as cold, etc.? So far, other than the water dispenser, everything works great. The motor is not humming loudly, nor is the top compressor area hot, etc.

Built in Fridges are a rip off ,they cost way more , have less space plus extra costs to fit them,I just purchased a new 70/30 fridge freezer ,if I had my time over I would purchase a free standing option, the veg/fruit drawer takes up one third of the space and even deprives me of the bottom shelf in the door space.Right now I actually think free-standing looks better than fitted.

I wonder if you can help guide me:

New home previous owner tricked me by leaving all non functional appliances.

Viking fridge freezer repaired by a viking authorised repairer= he vowed it will work & I trusted him! Their repair has failed ( evaporator unit), very annoyed $1800 lasted 3 months exactly to the date their warranty lasts..
My model number of the viking fridge freezer is:
    VCBB363LSS
    m2290226_36_VCBB_VIBB_DDBB_DFBB_BI_Btm_Mount_Rfg_Frz_ES.pdf
Page 3 of the document gives you dimensions of my current fridge freezer.
    37 inches max width
Height max floor to top is 84 inches

Ideally I would want a subzero but its ETA’s are far off.

I narrowed down to the following in no particular order, something with stainless steel finish:

    1. Liebherr – CS 2081
Top SS grill to fill the 84 inches space
    or

    2. Fisher & Paykel rs36w80rj1
I feel its a tiny bit small though!

    3. Someone recommended : SOFIA PROFESSIONAL FRIDGE 36"
    F7PBM36S1

    4. Lastly but not the least I heard of FHIABA~~
Fhiaba – FP36BI-RST X-Pro series, appears excellent value for the buck. But I cant find any reviews!

    I just need some reliability!

Please advise of the alternative’s you have which are in stock. I would like a decent trustworthy make.

Wish I would have planned better , it would have been an excellent deal on Thermador ( multiple appliances)!

We’re remodeling and decided to do a Panel Ready Built-In 42" with French Doors. Most expensive is Subzero but we can also get a KitchenAid 42" for $3000 less. Do you think Subzero is worth the $3,000 difference since we are going to be in this house for a long time?

  18. @JohnLee-db9zt on February 10, 2025 at 7:32 pm

It’s not worth it because it’s a dumb fad.

  19. @Mr6creampie9 on February 10, 2025 at 7:34 pm

We bought a refrigerator KitchenAid it was the worst thing we ever bought. We’ve had nothing but problems. Repairman out 4 times the first year. Contacted the company about 🍋. We didn’t have the exact same diagnoses 4 times. So they said it wasn’t a lemon. We have had it 7 years and have had a service man out 12 times. We’ ve thrown out$thousands because it freezes and won’t cool. We’ve also defrosted it ourselves about 15 times. I would warn you to never buy one. Hate it hate the company hate the service people.

Looking for tips on replacing an old 72" tall Sub-Zero with a ‘regular’ 72" fridge so I don’t have to reconfigure the cabinet opening for the current 84" built ins. Thoughts?

  23. @RLDenham on February 10, 2025 at 7:40 pm

We purchased a home with the sub zero it lasted for over 20 years for us but now it’s a money pit I’m not spending $16,000 for a replacement with another sub zero if I have to get a refrigerator for every 5 years that’s still cheaper than a new built in.
