I think safety razor is going to eventually make thousands of micro scratches. Later after months you can see how much scratches it made under a bright light. But thats the way it goes. I too use a surgical blade…but it does scratch.

Hi, how are you?You have a TV reporter or radio DJ voice!

  7. @AlpharedKanisTholiman on February 10, 2025 at 6:57 pm

Thank you so much I’ve been putting this off forever because I haven’t found anything that works real well to my satisfaction and I was afraid to use one of those safety razors so you’ve helped a lot!

  8. @GinaKettman on February 10, 2025 at 7:02 pm

Just read online that a nylon brush will scratch a glass top stove surface…I’m not even going to attempt that on my new stove

  9. @filly3594 on February 10, 2025 at 7:03 pm

Forget soaking ! Just start with the razor and use Weiman’s or any other brand of glass stovetop cleaner. I’ve had my glass cooktop for 20 years and you don’t need to soak with vinegar or anything else – the razor will scrape off the worst of it and the cooktop cleaner will get the rest with one or two applications. All you need to scrub with the glass stovetop cleaner is a folded paper towel and all you need is a quarter-sized dollop of cleaner, not a whole lot, and a second paper towel to polish it off. If your cooktop is super scratched, use a glass polishing compound and a buffer pad on a drill to buff out the scratches.

So good! I’m doing this today

  11. @michellefrye6297 on February 10, 2025 at 7:05 pm

So pretty much u have to use a razor… don’t really think the other stuff matters just an opinion…

  12. @brucewayne3602 on February 10, 2025 at 7:05 pm

    absolutely brilliant … THANKYOU !!!

  14. @naveenk135 on February 10, 2025 at 7:09 pm

Does Nylon brush not create scratches?

  15. @sha3909 on February 10, 2025 at 7:13 pm

What is the ratio in ounces? Lol I need to do this today!!πŸ˜‚

  16. @johnmal5975 on February 10, 2025 at 7:14 pm

I own a cleaning company and this will work 90% of the time. In those extra tough situations they sell glass compound that you can buff out with a drill and buffing pad. I would do this first because it does work 90% of the time and a lot less risk. Great Video!

  17. @rahmath3305 on February 10, 2025 at 7:15 pm

get 30% vinegar and add water to it? Why not use common vinegar when you have to add water?

  18. @josswoman4191 on February 10, 2025 at 7:15 pm

Gosh, it’s a good thing she told us to discard that used paper towel. How helpful.

  19. @Soffex on February 10, 2025 at 7:16 pm

Are the white rings around the burners and the text underneath the glass or above? Do I need to be careful not to scrape off the lines and text with a razor blade?

1:11 Great video! But, that is not a safety razor. Far from it.

  23. @patharrington2970 on February 10, 2025 at 7:18 pm

I just clean the stove every day even if I don’t use it just to get the dust of my mom always said clean as you work just like having a shower clean the tub don’t be a pig .

  24. @rebeccacarlson9166 on February 10, 2025 at 7:19 pm

Can I just say that I rent an apartment with a black cook top stove – and it’s the most difficult kind of cook top that I’ve ever cleaned!!!
😒 I really miss a gass stove!! And the color black seems to show every piece of dust!!

  25. @AkSonya1010 on February 10, 2025 at 7:21 pm

This works on glass shower doors as well. I put it in a spray bottle let is sit for a few moments and use a magic eraser.

  26. @seanjw12345 on February 10, 2025 at 7:21 pm

I wonder how many people you saved from a severe ass whooping in which they would’ve benefited from one πŸ˜†

  27. @1stJohn3.9-10 on February 10, 2025 at 7:22 pm

The very first night I moved into my apartment, I cooked up 10 pounds of hamburger, so the grease had dripped underneath the pan, and it totally ruined my stove 1-1/2 years ago. I have not been able to get it cleaned off, so I need try this before my lease is up. I was reading through the Lease agreement, and each area has potential fees of $50-400!

  28. @kennethiman2691 on February 10, 2025 at 7:22 pm

Just use Novus #2 and blade

  30. @brysonwest93 on February 10, 2025 at 7:24 pm

Wow that cleaned up beautifully! Thanks for the great tutorial.

  31. @davidrochon5002 on February 10, 2025 at 7:24 pm

Isn’t diluting the 30% vinegar down to 60:1 the same as the tenth of the concentration of common vinegar? Or maybe I got it wrong. I’ll test it.

  32. @robertkat on February 10, 2025 at 7:25 pm

Induction cook tops never get that bad because they stay cold.

  33. @ErinBoettger on February 10, 2025 at 7:25 pm

Thank you SO MUCH for this video. Saved my sanity πŸ™‚

  34. @lindaschneider-deines2291 on February 10, 2025 at 7:26 pm

This video was hard to listen to as it kept cytting in and out…poor quality.

  35. @jefff6167 on February 10, 2025 at 7:27 pm

Make sure the countertop near the stovetop can tolerate any vinegar overspray.

  36. @justjessy0115 on February 10, 2025 at 7:27 pm

I don’t understand, everything I’ve read or seen has said NOT to actin with any metal as all it does is leave Scrub scratches from the metal brush that can’t be undone

  37. @veronicasmith7076 on February 10, 2025 at 7:27 pm

I used to use scraper + cleaner, it never got it all the way clean. Now I use easy off heavy duty oven cleaner about once a month. Just spray it on, leave 5 min and wipe off with damp cloth and bingo… new cooktop. You do need a mask while spraying.

  38. @t-boneriembo4680 on February 10, 2025 at 7:29 pm

I like the step by step guidance.
    Like most viewers, we have:

    Regular edible vinegar
    Which is
    5% acetic acid

Which I’m sure you already knew what makes it vinegar lol

    No need for the 30%
Use regular household vinegar and don’t dilute it at all.

    Happy cleaning

  39. @mairwaugus5203 on February 10, 2025 at 7:31 pm

Really don’t care for glass range tops. Cleaning is one reason, & if one burner goes out..

  40. @kimsmith5872 on February 10, 2025 at 7:37 pm

    πŸŽ‰ that’s a million 😊

  41. @DianeForrest-h5p on February 10, 2025 at 7:38 pm

I was pleasantly surprised at how well this worked. I had accidentally sprayed cleaner on a hot glass stovetop a few months ago and your technique removed 99% of it. Thank you so much!

  42. @terrykohlman7355 on February 10, 2025 at 7:40 pm

I’ll just stay with regular cheap 5% vinegar

  43. @cd3224 on February 10, 2025 at 7:40 pm

Hi, i’m in UK – never seen that kind of safety razor here. Suggestions for a substitute please??

  44. @Collinormous on February 10, 2025 at 7:41 pm

My arm was wearing out trying to use 0000 steel wool. It was working but very slow – now I gotta give this a try

  45. @GodsRiightHand on February 10, 2025 at 7:42 pm

    Thank you!!

  46. @miagifodder5599 on February 10, 2025 at 7:45 pm

Let’s make those glass top stoves great again

  47. @Jedi_Luke on February 10, 2025 at 7:48 pm

Seems like the razor did most of the work.

  48. @EdsonNascimentoEN on February 10, 2025 at 7:48 pm

    Nice tutorial thanks for sharing.

  49. @bargainbin22 on February 10, 2025 at 7:49 pm

1 part to 60 parts is only about 05%.

  50. @Minerva-tn7cd on February 10, 2025 at 7:51 pm

I too, am a lady and madame, after watching just one of your videos I do believe you’re the COOLEST lady I’ve ever seen in my life! Thank you! Just moved into a place with a glass top stove and although I’ve only used it once, already it’s getting mucky.

Can’t wait to see more of your brilliant work. I’m disabled, and not even certain how to hang things on walls without destroying the wall (last place I lived had walls that might as well have been lead & I ended up velcroing my art to them :/ ).
