I use a belt/tie rack to display my mugs on a wall because I just cannot get rid of them.
I’m constantly purging. I will say that there is one thing I refuse to get rid of even though I have used it once in over 10 years. The melon baller I refuse to purge. It’s my one guilty pleasure, my one piece of clutter. It takes up minimal room.
I got rid of a dozen travel mugs that we no longer use because I got a stainless steel Ozark one as a gift from my brother and we bought about another dozen of those. We take them on trips and use them ALL THE TIME! They’re great!!

Coffee mugs in this house do get used. I have some cute cups that need to go. I got rid of my placemats.

My cup cupboard was one of the 1st things that I decluttered and then my husband was like, "Hey, where’s that green cup?" Because he used to use it to mix like marinades and stuff like that in it. Now he can use a different cup. But now the whole cupboard is like over half empty and I’m going to move anything coffee or tea into that cupboard with the coffee pot underneath it. Nothing else. I’m trying to switch my whole kitchen around like that. Like you teach us, a baking cupboard with the mixer uner it, it won’t fit in a cupboard, and I’m going to try to put spices in a drawer and all the knives and cutting boards together.
Sorry, my brain is running away. Squirreling out. I’m getting tested for ADHD. Partially thanks to you, Cass, and the boss that fired me for it.
The small green containers without lids that have the divided sections are inserts that go into the ones with lids.

Lol BR we used to run to that song during soccer practice in high school! It was the perfect timing for our laps around the field! One of my besties taught me that!! 😍. I remember when it first came out and heard it on WPLJ NY back….mmm a few years ago!! 😉

Cute mugs make great micro green planters and flower pots. They fit on a windowsill really nicely.

We have the nice A-list mugs in the mug cupboard, and then the b-list mugs down below that can be used for going into the shed or outside the fire that we don’t care if they get smashed. Otherwise they are out.

1/14/22….I picked up pens 🖊 + pencils ✏ + markers all over the place….then I would come home + put them all in the kitchen drawer.
FINALLY I got tired of used/dry/broken
pens/pencils/markers….+ NOW I IMMEDIATELY PUT OLD/UNUSABLE ONES IN TRASH as soon as I pick up/find out they’re NOT WORKING!
I HAVE EVEN GONE INTO ANOTHER ROOM WITH A TRASH 🗑 BIN/BAG + THROWN OUT THESE ITEMS!
THEY ARE GONE & I KNOW I WILL NEVER EVER SEE/MEET THIS ITEM AGAIN! OUT + GONE!

Absolutely crazy. I have a terrible memory for song lyrics and books as well. AND, I learned Bohemian Rhapsody on the piano as a child and it’s literally the only song I know by memory. Probably because I played it a gazillion times. Lol
Do NOT put your spices someplace where they’ll get warm (i.e., too close to the stove); they’ll lose their effectiveness. The previous owners of our house put halogen lights under the kitchen cabinets. Great for light, but I can’t turn them on because they put out so much heat that it heats up the cabinet where my spices are! Spices need to stay cool and dry for the most part.
I need duplicates for sone of the most used items as do not load a dishwasher everyday 🤷🏻♀️

I’ve been decluttering for about a month. Got husband out for 8 or 9 days (mercifully getting divorced hopefully sooner rather than later) and began. I began while he was out because my clutter guilt is rooted in him. Without a narcissist scrutinizing everything I get rid of, the craziest thing happened! I just happily threw shit away. Bag after bag after bag.
Now, my house is soooo easy (and I know it can be easier) and he’s annoyed that I don’t have to chase the house all day, every day.
I was "lazy" when it was a constant wreck and now I’m "lazy" because it’s not a wreck in need of rescue.
Can’t win AND DON’T EVEN WANT TO ANYMORE!

I’m in a similar situation. I have a lot of beautiful specialty glasses which I inherited, even though I don’t drink. Recently I decided to get rid of my regular glasses and drink water and juice from my grandma’s crystal ware. Best decision ever, it feels so fancy.
I started to declutter a lot of these things last week and donated them
Just a thought on the basting brushes….. The inner part of the celery that has leaves, works great…. Then can make into a sauce, compost, or toss.
I’ve found so many "other" uses for kitchen items. Those mugs I would use as pen holders or hold small items in my sewing room. I actually have my sewing scissors in my Dad’s pewter beer mug. Reminds me of the holiday to Malaysia where he bought this back in the 80s. He’s been gone 18 yrs now. I use Mum’s cut crystal dessert bowls for my jewellery and they sit on or in my dressing table. Those crystal divided plates are also great jewellery holders. Plastic containers without lids are great drawer storage. I love to repurpose things to give them a new and useful life.

I quit playing pen roulette years ago. If a pen doesn’t work I immediately toss it. It’s so much less frustrating to write now
Pen roulette, bahahahahahaha. Omg yes. I buy 50 packs of bic pens because they’re the best and I STILL can’t find any among the bazillions of bad pens. How??? They’re with the hair ties and single socks.

Solution for pens – I bought a refillable fountain pen. No pens cluttering space, and it is better for the environment. I have a couple of ink pots and have hardly made a dent in them after 3 years and I use my pen all the time.
Just thought of a use for those silicone brushy thingys use them to clean inside deep glases or mugs when washing dishes.
Lol, wine glasses? She lost me at we don’t even drink. 🤣 Probably because I’m watching this with a glass of wine…. in my defense, my wine glasses all match and they get used for entertaining regularly.
